Graduated from the Military Medicine School in Mexico City in 1981, with a degree of Surgeon-Major.
In 1982, he completed his Post –Graduate studies and rotation internship at the Central Military Hospital.
Begins his General Surgery Residency program at the Military Hospital in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico, concluding in 1985.
Starts Residency for his degree as Plastic Surgeon on at the “Jose Guerrero Santos” Reconstructive, Esthetic, and Plastic Surgery Plastic Surgery Institute in Jalisco, graduating with Honors in 1988
In 1989, he pursues post-graduate studies, namely a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, at the University of California School of Medicine
By 1990, he founds the hair transplant group in the city of Tijuana, B.C. and receives the most intensive, in-depth training from two of the best teachers the world has to offer in the art of hair micro transplant, Doctor William Rassman and Doctor Robert Berstein. |
In 1994, he finally reaches his goal by inaugurating GARDEL HAIR RESTORATION INSTITUTE and GARDEL PLASTIC SURGERY in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico.
Hair Transplant Experience
Since 1994, he has been the General Director of GARDEL HAIR RESTORATION INSTITUTE, having performed more than 3,000 hair transplants on patients from different countries.
Use of Microscope on Micro Follicular Transplant
In Mexico, GHRI pioneered the use of high-resolution binaural microscope since 1998, as well as the practice of MEGA-SESSIONS.

Teaching Activities
Since 1997, he has taught at one of the top plastic surgery schools in all of Latin America: the “Guererro Santos Reconstructive, Esthetic, and Plastic Surgery Institute.”
Year after year, he has been invited to participate as a guest professor in the art and science of hair micro-transplant at national and international training conferences.
His most recent participation as a guest professor was in March, 2009, with the topic: “Reconstruction of lateral areas or GHRI youth triangles”
GHRI is the only place in the country that offers teaching and instruction on hair transplant to plastic surgeons from Mexico and abroad.
