baldness
Why
does hair fall out?

Generally speaking, baldness
is caused by heredity, hormones, aging, and some instances by disease.
Sometimes, hair loss may
be temporary (it will grow back again) and may occur for a variety
of reasons:
•
Stress
• Medical treatment (anti-cancer
drugs)
• Oral contraceptives
• Pregnancy and post-delivery
• Menopause
• Diabetes
• Thyroid problems
• Malnutrition
• Dermatological
diseases or infection
What is Baldness or
Androgenetic Alopecia?
Androgenetic
Alopecia is the medical term for inherited baldness, and it consists
on hair thinning and disappearance. This condition is determined
by male hormones and heredity.
Dihydrotestosterone
(DHT) is the hormone that normally controls hair growth and development.
When a man or woman has high levels of this hormone (inherited from
father or mother), the capillary follicules (hair producing organs)
from the upper part of the head will be affected, producing thin,
miniaturized hair that sooner or later will disappear. When this
occurs, there’s no remedy left.
Who suffers Androgenetic
Baldness?
Women and men
may lose hair quantity and thickness; although, their patterns are
very different.
